John Wooden Motivational Speech

Here is a motivational speech by UCLA college basketball coach legend, John Wooden who is famous for winning 10 NCAA National Championships in 12 years (7 of those being consecutive), a feat that has not been matched despite the fact that he never talked to his team about winning.

His belief is even if you outscore the other team, if you don't give it your best, then you didn't win. If you get outscored by the other team but gave it your all, then you are a winner. Whether you agree with that or not, you can't argue with the results he has produced.

This is a video of his speech at a TED event where the brightest people are invited to speak. Wooden talks about success principles and character. Some of the things he lives by is to never be late, never criticize, and no matter what you do, you must have patience.

This is an inspirational speech by an inspirational man. Enjoy.
