The question, "What would you do if today was your last day?" is one of those questions that if you really think about, can change you life. We won't be able to know exactly what day will be our final day here. This is why it's important to do what you can while you're still here.
Having the mindset of today being your last may not be the best strategy but perhaps if you thought of this year as being your last year here. How would you treat people? What would you spend most of your time doing? What would you attempt to accomplish? Would you care about other people's opinion of you as much? Would you tell the people you love that you loved them more often? Life could bring us more happiness and success if we just stop thinking we will live forever.
